U.S. Rep. Pete Olson couldn't hide his excitement for the free, tasty snacks when he walked into the Sugar Land Neighborhood Donor Center. When I first met, Rep. Olson he sported a Texas flag facemask and an infectious enthusiasm to save lives with his O positive blood donation.

At 4 a.m., I secured a second console, and I’m excited to announce that one of Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s heroic donors is going to win it. Every donor who gives blood between Nov. 12 and Nov. 27, 2020, is automatically entered into the contest.
Blood drives and homemade cookies save lives
Like clockwork, the third Tuesday of the month, you'll find the Auxiliary of Angleton Danbury at UTMB ADC hosting their blood drive. They held their first blood drive in 1973 at the request of what was then Angleton-Danbury General Hospital. During just one week in September 1972, the hospital had to cancel 24 surgeries because of a lack of blood.
